Providing a comfortable, healing environment for its medical clinic patients was the overall goal for Columbia West physicians. To create this mood in an existing shopping center, natural light was introduced into the waiting area. Complementing the open, airy environment were soft, geometric forms, distinctive detailing, and the selection of materials, fabrics and colors designed for the utmost relaxation.

Patient access to exam rooms and clinical spaces is now designed to minimize travel distance in a logical and convenient manner.

The collective planning and design is intended to minimize the patients’ anticipation of medical care by changing the sense of a stereotypical clinical environment.
